FG declares Friday, Monday as public holidays


The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 14, and Monday 17, as public holidays to mark the 2017 Easter celebration.

Abdulrahman Dambazzau, the minister of interior, made the announcement on behalf of the Nigerian government and called on Christians to extend the spiritual benefits of Easter among all Nigerians.

Listing the benefits as love, peace, justice, sacrifice and kindness, the minister said, will contribute to the daily living, unity and peace co-existence of Nigerians.

Easter celebration will commence on Friday, April 14, all through Monday 17.
