The UNILAG Africaribbean Carnival 2017 is themed CREATIVE ARTS AT 20. It is a class examination of the 300 Level students of the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Arts, under the course titled African/Caribbean Theatre Laboratory (THA338).
It is a course that celebrates humanity, most especially Africans within Africa and in Diaspora. It is a melting pot for cultures in Africa and in the West Indies. Countries as Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, as well as Brazil from South America will be represented in colourful costumes and celebrating in one spirit.
The UNILAG Africaribbean Carnival is a contemporary practice and the first of its kind in any African University, celebrating the Carnival culture of the nations of the Caribbean Islands through a research based approach.
It is a class examination but a UNILAG Affair as a Community and has been celebrated Annually as this year would make its 12th year on the Campus of the University of Lagos.
The Carnival is happening on the University Campus, specifically the Sport Centre as the Central Venue on the 18th of August, 2017.
