Day 1 of Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week 2017 started off with a bang. Nine designers took the runway to show their collections and it was truly an evening of fashion; the models brought their impressive pieces to life.
The event which held at Federal Palace Hotel Victoria Island, on 19th and 20th August were two nights of creativity and exquisite designs.
The designers that showcased on day 1 – Apparels by Pearl, Marie Suave, Thread by Nessa, Nelson Couture, Pinkies Stitches, Adara Atelier, Carl Andrews, Needle Thread Stitches and Mega House of fashion.
Day 2 featured over 13 designers on the runway, they include Ovems (Creative Designer NSFDW 2016), YRC Nigeria (Creative Designer 2013 Maiden Edition), Tinyfitting, Valisimo Fashion School, Hym Signage (2016 Runner up), M’Briel Fashion, Nanaclassique, Kolzy Couture, Makaris Wear, Stephanie Daniels for Styles Squad, Daltimore, Idiol Nupo, 9ja Urban Clothing, Happily Fab Clothing and Ashilla Rozae.
A panel of celebrity judges with vast fashion and communication experience selected the winners after watching the collections displayed on the runway for two days, the judges were Ono Bello, Ayo Van Elmar, Ejiro Amos-Tafiri, Oluwa Tosin Ogundadegbe and Kola Kuddus.
At the end of the night, awards were given to Most Promising Model, Best Male Designer (Hym Signage), Most Promising Designer (Apparels by Pearl), Best Female Designer (Adara Atelier) presented by the grand patron of NSFDW, Mr Ifeanyi Oputa MD Studio 24, Mrs Blessing Ebere Founder, 360 Creative Hub, Mrs Wunmi Olwudare Founder of Wumi O, Jumia and OSC Fashion Institute.
It wasn’t all fashion throughout the night, there were musical performances from Mz Kiss, YBNL’s Viktoh, Mo Eazy almost others.
This year’s partners include Jumia, Studio 24, Style Squad, Mahogany International, Zaron Cosmetics, My Hair Ltd, 360 Creative Hub, Africa Fashion Week London, Mr Torch Footies Shoes.
