Abdallah Al Shahani, a popular singer in Saudi Arabia has been arrested for “dabbing” during a concert in south-west Saudi Arabia.
Dabbing is a type of a dance move, which involves a person tucking their head into the crook of their arm. It gained a global dance move when celebrities like musicians, athletes and even politicians began performing the move.
It was said that Saudi Interior Ministry’s National Commission for Combating Drugs recently banned the move because they consider it to refer to marijuana use.
A video of Mr Al Shahani’s dab has gone viral and his arrest has caused a controversy on social media as thousands of Saudi Twitter users debated whether he should face punishment or not.
