The man who claimed to be a hunter, was caught with one locally-made single barrel gun and four catridges of 7.5mm calibre for AK-47 rifle.
He was arrested by policemen at about 5:30pm on 10 July, 2012 in Ikorodu and was subsequently detained for interrogation and then charged to court.
According to Ajayi, “I’ve been living there for three years and the people who reported me to the Police said that I was living with their opponent.
“I’m a hunter with a certificate and everybody in my area knows that. I want this court to pardon me because I just lost my wife and only have my child staying with me. I think it’s just a ploy by the people of that area to tarnish my image.”
The police said he contravened section 228 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties and one of them must be a community leader.
