Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi has given 40 cars out to magistrates in the state.

The governor made the presentation at Ikogosi Ekiti on Friday after declaring open a workshop organised for the magistrates by the state Ministry of Justice.

Fayemi said training was an effective way of changing and increasing individual’s attitude motivation.

The magistrates, he added, needed training to enable them to perform better in their chosen careers.

Fayemi, who hinted of a planned judicial institute in the state, said his administration had been working for a better condition of service for judicial officers and other categories of workers.

He said, “The institute will provide a sustainable framework for the continuous education of magistrates and other judicial officers.

“The institute is best suited to ensure that training programmes are designed on the basis of systematically identified needs.

“This administration is in support a system of justice that shifts from rigid law and order towards one based on greater efficiency, professionalism and effectiveness; hence the importance placed on the magistracy in justice administration in the state.”
