On Wednesday, 10 July 2013, round 4pm in the evening, two robbers were caught in Ibadan after forcefully robbing an unsuspecting victim of a huge sum of money. The incident which happened at a petrol station along the state Hospital, Ring Road Ibadan, saw the robbers meet their waterloo as they were apprehended and almost lynched by an angry mob.
It is gathered exclusively that the robbers after the robbery tried to escape on a bike but were stopped by the timely intervention of commercial bike riders around the axis, who after hearing the victim’s cry for help gave them a hot chase.
Eye witnesses recount that the captured robbers were met by angry mob who bludgeoned and almost lynched them before men of the Nigerian Police Force, attached to the Oluyole Division came to their rescue.
They have since been arrested and locked up at Oluyole Police Station.
