Robin Thicke has just notched another victory in the UK, where his album is not only selling well, but is actually no.1 on the UK Albums Chart.
“Thank you for making my new album Number 1 in the UK! This is a dream come true. I hope everyone enjoys it. Peace, love, and sexy!” Thicke said in a statement.
According to The Official Charts Company, Thicke’s album, “Blurred Lines,” struck no.1 Sunday, knocking Jay-Z’s chart topper, “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” to no.2.
“Despite being a major recording artist and songwriter in his homeland – collaborating with everyone from Christina Aguilera to 50 Cent – Blurred Lines is only Robin’s second UK Top 40 album; his 2007 second album, The Evolution Of Robin Thicke, peaked at Number 30 six years ago this month,” reports The Official Charts Company.
In related news, the album’s title-track broke through the million copies sales barrier earlier this week. Blurred Lines is only the 137th single to reach this sales milestone in British history. The song sits at no. 2 on the UK Singles Chart this week.
