Ebiloma Abdullahi was arraigned in November 2009 on a 7-count charge of impersonation, forgery and obtaining money by false pretence. The convict was, however, discharged and acquitted of five charges.
It has been established that in 2008, he paraded himself as a student of Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, and assumed the position of the National President of the National Association of Nigeria Student (NANS). He paid courtesy visits to Bauchi State governor Isa Yuguda and former Chairman of the Nigerian Football Association Alhaji Sani Lulu from whom he obtained the sum of N500,000 under the false pretense, promising the money would be used to mobilize Nigerian students to support the Super Eagles.
The presiding judge found the accused guilty for forgery and obtaining money by false pretense, and
consequently sentenced Abdullahi to two and 10 years for each count respectively. The sentences are to run concurrently.
