Our crush this week is the guy who gets all the ladies drooling over his hot physique, rocking cool dreads and also with a distinct dress sense .In 2005 Chinedu Izuchukwu Okoli popularly known as Mr Flavour released his debut album N’abania, though its major success began solely in the eastern suburbs he soon became wide spread because of his unique genre of music.
The Enugu state born crooner started his music career at the age of 13 with playing drums for his church choir in Enugu. The resident pastor at his church introduced him to a friend, Chris Ordor, the CEO of SoundCity Communications, and in 1996, Flavour was invited to join the company on an educational scholarship to study music. After three years of playing the drums, Flavour started playing the drums professionally. In 1999, Flavour got better than playing the drums and started playing the keyboard, he also used to provide backing vocals for other musicians at SoundCity.
After his debut album in 2005 he moved on to release another one in 2010 “Uplifted” and then in 2012 he released another called “Blesssed”. In 2011 he won Hop World Awards (The Headies) for best collabo, in 2012 he won best R n B video at the channel O awards, best collabo at The Headies and best indigenous artist at the NEA. This year he won the African Muzik Magazine Awards for video of the year and best traditional artist. All these awards and more with a whole lot of nominations, I would say he has an achievement sheet so long our words would not be enough, it is a pleasure crushing on a success.
