A fresh crisis in Chocolate City has left a crack that forced new sign- on, Milli to leave as the label’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), MI and rapper, Ice Prince argued over style of management and official handedness.
While it is yet to be known if Ice Prince has formally left the formerly Audu-Maikori-led music company, it can be confirmed that Milli has left for a new record company. Milli’s new record company planned an official ‘transfer’ ceremony for last weekend but was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
E24-7Magazine’s source hinted MI and Ice Prince were practically at daggers drawn a fortnight ago, arguing on ‘style of management and official handedness’. The scene was so intense that staffers had to run away from the scene as MI also known as Chairman and Ice Prince engaged each other spewing expletives in Hausa.
Insider disclosed that while MI’s sister, Sarah, acts like the ‘Queen of the Coast’, calling the shots on critical management issues and finances, his girlfriend, Erica Okundaye, breathes down staffers and artistes on the label with directives as the Human Resources Manager.
The two women, Sarah and Erica are running the Chocolate City now. They practically frustrated Milli out of Chocolate City. “They gossip about everybody from Jesse Jagz who returned to Ruby his Baby Mama. But trust Ruby, she is fiercely independent, she promotes her music herself, gets her costume on her own and that includes taking care of her child, 9 years old Jade.
Our source hinted that while Jesse Jagzz returned to the label, the last born in MI’S family, Jason has since left due to the high – handedness of Sarah and Erica.
Staffers, our source hinted, could understand Erica ‘ s position and romance with Sarah.
“It is short – lived because she knows she needs Sarah ‘ s support to get MI to make up his mind and take her to the altar.
But they feared if the former model’s dream would ever come. “It’s over three to four years now and MI has not deemed it fit to propose. The only thing she enjoys is to cruise around town in his exotic cars.”
As at the time of filing this report, MI has travelled to South Africa to perform and is expected to return to Nigeria early this week with his manager, Abucci. The Gbagada, Lagos office as at this time of filing this report, since MI travelled, Ice Prince next in hierachy to him has not called or stepped in to this office, now under the management of three women – Sarah (Accounts), Erica (HR) and Toda, who is in charge of artiste management.
