Viewers tuned in to the presidential debate on October 9, to watch Hillary Clinton & Donald Trump go head to head but there was – Ken Bone.
Viewers tuned in to the second 2016 presidential debate on Sunday, October 9, to watch presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump go head to head after video of GOP candidate making vulgar comments about women surfaced on Friday, but there was an unexpected victor — a man named Kenneth Bone.
After the undecided voter — dressed in a bright red sweater and khakis — calmly asked during the town hall-style event how the candidates would address the country’s energy needs while keeping jobs and the environment in mind, he captured America’s attention.
And when he was spotted after the debate snapping photos on the set using a disposable camera, viewers fell in love even more, causing his name to trend on social media.
“I think we can all agree that Ken Bone has brought Americans a little closer. Thank you #kenbone,” one viewer tweeted.
“Don’t let Ken Bone fool you. He knew he was going viral tonight,” another wrote. “You don’t go white tie and disposable camera unless you know it’s your time.”
“U.S. history books, 2150: ‘And in that moment, the republic was saved by a man named Ken Bone,'” yet another shared.
A parody account of Bone quickly popped up on Twitter and had nearly 2,000 followers shortly after the debate ended. The first tweet? “I’m Kenneth Bone. Welcome to the Bone Zone.”
Even CNN took to Twitter to declare Bone the winner of the debate.

I want Ken Bone to wrap that beautiful red cableknit sweater of his around our divided nation. Only his warmth can save us now.

The red sweater, the moustache, soft spoken but confident, the disposable camera. Exactly what America needs. Ken Bone for President #debate
