Mrs. Fani-Kayode and her eight-month-old son had been detained for hours by officials of an Access Bank Branch in Ado Ekiti on Monday on the instruction of the anti-graft agency.

The EFCC said she was held for trying to withdraw money from an account that had been frozen, adding that the account had N2.3m in it.

However, Mrs. Fani-Kayode, lambasted the agency in a series of tweets, accusing it of lying against her.

She said contrary to the claim that the account had N2m, it had less than 300,000 in it.

She also said she had opened the account before she met her husband in 2014.

The EFCC had in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, had said the account contained illicit cash flows.

It added, “It was discovered that the account had two biometric identification numbers, one for Fani-Kayode and the other (with BVN 2205597283) for Sonia Chikwendu. The same BVN is linked to two other accounts in Diamond Bank and 15 accounts in Guaranty Trust Bank.”

Precious, however, faulted all the claims, stressing that she has three GTB accounts and that they had all been operational since 2012.
