The second edition of the VGC Basketball Championship has been slated to dunk off from July 15 to August 6 at the Estate’s Court in Victoria Garden City, Lagos.
Host of the event, Siji Sowonola, said at the weekend that this year’s tournament would surpass the successes recorded in the maiden edition in all ramification.
This time five teams would be competing over four-week period to determine this year’s winner.
A successful draft for team selection was held on June 24 led by the captains, Dipo Adediran, Peter Adebayo, Efa Owizo, Siji Sowonola and John Itsukwi. The commissioner of the games, Gerald Solomon, has asked that the players make the event a fun-filled and interesting one in the spirit of respect, brotherly-love and friendship. SPAR, Fine Gentlemen’s Shoes and Efficacy Construction Company support the event.
He also thanked the EXCOs of VGC led by Arc. Segun Ladega and the management team led by Vaughan Edwards for their continued support for the event.
