As the ambassador for GPE, her work has led her to travel the world to raise funds for schooling in poor communities.

On Friday, Rihanna joined forces with French president Emmanuel Macron to champion for education in the poorest countries in a room full of world leaders by speaking at the GPE Financing conference in Senegal.

Supported by President Macron, she delivered an inspirational speech along about how important access to education is to any given community. Together they urged world leaders and donors to increase support for schooling.

“This is a fight that we are never going to stop fighting until every boy and every girl has access to education,” said Rihanna.

Rihanna has also turned to twitter to spread her message by calling out presidents to honor their commitments in the next summit as GPE aims to raise $3.1 billion dollars over the next two years which will provide access in classrooms to 870 million children in 65 developing countries. Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo also emphasized the need for education by revealing a unique fact about Senegal.

“We have the youngest population on the planet, on the richest continent with the worst living conditions. That paradox can only be broken by education.” -Rihanna
