Actress, Lupita Nyong’o, joined the #BlackPantherChallenge, taking 1,200 students in her native Kenya to go see the movie.
She said: “I joined the #BlackPantherChallenge and sponsored 1,200 schoolchildren to watch the film in Kisumu, Kenya with my mother’s help.
I wanted kids from my hometown to see the positive images reflected in the film and superheroes that they can relate to on the big screen.
“No matter where you live, you can help make this happen for more children who can’t afford to see the movie,” she added.
Marvel’s Black Panther has taken the box office by storm. On the 22nd of February, the movie had already made $491 million dollars worldwide, starring actors like Chadwick Boseman, Micheal B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and many others.
