A Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt featured movie directed by Quentin Tarantino is in the works

If you are as much of a fan of Leonardo DiCaprio, not to mention Quentin Tarantino as much as I am, then this news might just be cotton candy to you.

Quentin Tarantino has tapped Brad Pitt to star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in his upcoming project.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The film follows two struggling actors during the Manson Family murders in 1969.

DiCaprio was cast to play Rick Dalton, a former lead actor on a western TV series, while Pitt will play his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth. Rick was Sharon Tate’s next door neighbor at the time of her death.

“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was 7 years old,” Tarantino said in a statement obtained by Deadline.

“I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”

Tarantino has already collaborated with Pitt for the World War II film Inglourious Basterds, which snagged eight Academy Awards nominations.
DiCaprio and Tarantino also share history thanks to the move Django Unchained.

According to Deadline, Tom Cruise was also being considered for one of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’s main roles.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is scheduled to hit theaters on Aug. 9, 2019, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Charles Manson and his cult committing the notorious murders.
