Chrissy Teigen, 32, and John Legend, 39, became two-time parents after welcoming their second child, a precious baby boy! Chrissy announced the exciting news via Twitter on May 16, and now, just 3 days later, the proud mom and dad have revealed the infant’s name.
Taking to Instagram on May 20, John and Chrissy shared that they’ve decided to call their son — drumroll please — Miles Theodore Stephens! How cute is that? We knew the newborn’s moniker would be special, but this is even sweeter than we had imagined!
If you’re wondering why Miles’ last name is Stephens and not Legend, it’s because he was given John’s real last name instead of his stage name. Big sister Luna is also Luna Stephens, not Luna Legend (even though that would be a really great moniker too). Chrissy made the announcement on Instagram in her first photo of her baby boy. “Hello, world! This is Miles Theodore Stephens – We are drowning in his little peeps and nuzzles,” she gushed in the caption. “Our household feels overwhelmed with love. Thank you for all your well wishes!”
Chrissy and John are already the proud parents of 2-year-old daughter Luna Simone, so with a name like that, we’re not surprised Chrissy and John went with the name they did for their son. But despite how great the choice is, it apparently took some time to think of! After all, back in February, Chrissy explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she and John were struggling with a name.
“I’ve been toying with Dick Legend a lot,” the model teased at the time. “…Can we say that? Richard Legend.” When it came to naming Luna though, the process was apparently a lot simpler — as there was a blood moon in the sky when she was born. “It was a very beautiful night, really big, vivid red moon, and just gorgeous,” Chrissy told Ellen DeGeneres. “I have this love for space and I think about space camp all the time, and my days at space camp as a youngster. And so I just thought Luna was perfect.”
