Spanish champions Barcelona clung on with 10 men to draw against Real Madrid and preserve their unbeaten season in a heart-attack Clasico.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Gareth Bale were all on target in a pulsating clash which thrilled from first minute to last.

Barcelona broke the deadlock with a sensational move in the 10th minute, Suarez feeding the ball down the right for Sergi Roberto, galloping into space, and he crossed to the back post for the Uruguayan to volley home superbly.

However Madrid levelled just four minutes later with another well-worked goal, when Ronaldo bundled home from close range after Karim Benzema headed the ball across goal to him.

Madrid took control of the game and created the better openings, with Ronaldo heading over, firing wide and seeing Marc-Andre ter Stegen deny him when through.

The drama spiked just before half-time when Sergi Roberto was sent off for a silly slap on Marcelo, while referee Alejandro Jose Hernandez Hernandez only warned Bale for a shocking lunge at Samuel Umtiti.

Barcelona went ahead when Suarez fouled Raphael Varane, getting away with it to feed Messi, who beat two men and slammed home inside the near post.

The Catalans with 10 men could have had another but Suarez’s strike was wrongly ruled offside, while Messi forced Navas into a superb low save.

Bale pulled Madrid level with a sublime curler and then Madrid should have had a penalty after a car crash of a tackle from Alba on Marcelo which went unpunished.
