Floyd Mayweather, the father of professional boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. , is also the father to a one-year-old daughter, according to a paternity test.
According to TMZ, a DNA test showed that the 65-year-old Floyd Sr. fathered a child with a woman named Purisa Farris. Mayweather, who may be best known for training his son Floyd Jr., was in a paternity suit with Farris, who filed for child support earlier in the year, according to TMZ.
As part of the case, Mayweather was forced to take a DNA test in April. The test showed that the probability of paternity is 99.99%. He apparently has five other children, including Floyd. Jr., who is 41-years-old.
This has been a dramatic year for Mayweather. Back in January, a
warrant for his arrest was out after he allegedly assaulted a woman back in September, reports TMZ. The incident supposedly occurred on the night of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin match at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena.
The altercation is said to have gone down between him and the woman after they got into a verbal argument in the event space’s parking lot. Mayweather allegedly pulled her from the car and punched her in the leg when she refused to get out. She was reportedly hospitalized after the incident. Mayweather got handed a misdemeanor battery charge.
After news of the arrest warrant broke, Mayweather’s representative denied the charges and said the woman was “trying to extort money and she’s angry because she’s not getting the money from Floyd. It’s not going the way she wants it to go.”
