Our Man Crush This Week: Ahmed Musa #OMCM

Ahmed Musa is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a forward and left winger for Nigeria’s Super Eagles and is currently playing for Russian football club, CSKA Moscow on loan from English Premier League side Leicester City FC.

Musa started playing football at a very early age and joined Nigerian Academy, BS Football Academy in 2008. From the academy, he was loaned to Nigerian clubs like JUTH FC and Kano Pillars FC.

After his success at the Nigerian clubs, he was transferred to Eredivisie division team, VVV-Venlo in 2010. But according to his age issue, he was eligible to play for the Dutch club when he turned 18 on 14 October.

He made his debut for the team against FC Groningen on 30 October.

During his time with the Dutch club, he was awarded AIT Football player of the year in Nigeria.

His impressive performance attracted the teams of Europe such as Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax FC.

Musa became the first Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match, after scoring twice against Argentina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He is also the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cup competitions, after scoring twice against Iceland in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Ahmed is currently married to his wife, Juliet Ejue whom he married in 2017 after divorcing his former spouse Jamila Musa. Ahmed Musa has two children with his former wife, Halima Musa ( Daughter) and Ahmed Musa Junior (Son).
