Man Kills Wife With A Pestle In Anambra State

A man identified as James Nworah, has killed his wife with a pestle at the Ngbuka Nkpor area, Idemili North Council Area of Anambra State.

It was learnt that the couple who were blessed with five children, three boys and two girls, recently packed into the building.

One of the sympathizers disclosed that the Nworah from Izzi in Abakiliki, Ebonyi state is alleged to be mentally unstable and was once a commercial motorcyclist.

They maintained that the couple were living peacefully and were into pap making (Akamu) business and that the incident happened at about 2 a.m when they have finished sieving the pap they would sell the following day.

According to them, the wife, Mrs Jennifer Nworah went into sleep when the husband came in frustrated and pound her on the head with a pestle.

It was again gathered that the man called his brother and told him that he killed his wife before he was arrested by the police.

Meanwhile the man is now in custody at Ogidi Police Station where the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Mark Ijarafu confirmed the incident adding that the man would be taken to the State CID.

However the remains of the late Mrs Jennifer Nworah have been deposited at the mortuary.
