A Georgia man who was accused of attempting to rape his son’s girlfriend has said he was sleepwalking when the incident happened.
54-year-old Ricardo Arturo Cole Sr. was arrested on a rape charge on Wednesday following the incident which happened on April 8 while the victim was asleep in a home that her boyfriend and Cole shared.
It was reported that the victim felt someone get into bed and assumed it was her boyfriend, the person rolled down the woman’s pants and attempted intercourse.
She turned around, saw that it was Cole and pushed him away. Police say Cole apologized and said he’d been sleepwalking. She cut off contact with the pair and reported the incident to police in May.
According to AJC, Cole is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
