A 9-year-old girl was gang-raped by her stepbrother and his friends on order of her jealous step-mother who then strangled her to death in Uri town in Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
The police revealed the details saying that child’s eyes were gouged out and her private parts were burnt with battery acid before being dumped in a forest near her home in Uri.
Imtiyaz Hussain, Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla, reportedly said, “During the investigation, police understood that someone from the family is involved and questioned few people at the police station. The girl’s stepmother, stepbrother and three others are involved in the crime.”
Hussain added, “The probe team has seized all the murder weapons and a plastic can containing acid from the spot.”
Hussain also revealed that the teenage offenders have confessed to the crime and separately corroborated the facts during questioning.
“They will be sent to a juvenile home and dealt with according to the state’s juvenile law,” Hussain said.
