Legendary actor Burt Reynolds has died of a heart attack in a hospital in Florida on Thursday morning at the age of 82.
Reynolds went into cardiac arrest at home, and was transferred to hospital, where he died, the actor’s manager Erik Kritzer reports.
Reynolds was best known for his roles in Smokey and the Bandit, The Longest Yard and Boogie Nights – for which he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
He was also filming Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood alongside Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio at the time of his death.
The actor is survived by his son.
