The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called off its nationwide warning strike, which began on Thursday, 27 September following promises by the Federal Government to reconvene the tripartite committee on national minimum wage on October 4.
The suspension of the warning strike takes effect from today.
The announcement of the suspension was made Today by the NLC President Ayuba Wabba.
He said the strike is being called off as a result of the firm and formal assurance of the Federal Government to reconvene the tripartite committee on the new minimum wage.
The suspension means workers are expected to resume duties on Tuesday as Monday has been declared public holiday by the federal government to mark the Nigeria’s Independence Day.
