At the age of 47 years old, Snoop Dogg is to receive his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as per Variety.
The Long Beach legend will become the 2651st person to receive his or her own star, at a ceremony taking place on November 19th (Monday), as Jimmy Kimmel Live! is filmed.
The late-night host will be asked to perform master of ceremony duties by the Hollywood Walk of Fame committee.
“Snoop Dogg is one of those people who can do anything. He raps, he acts, he hosts a television show, he cooks, and helps community kids with his philanthropic work,” said Ana Martinez, a high-ranking member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame committee. “He is a man of the ages and we welcome him to our Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
For those like myself, who’ve endured Snoop Dogg’s evolution 25 years in the making, his selection requires little explanation.
During that span, Snoop successfully leveraged his rap persona into various different fields, including film, podcasting, product placement, philanthropy, and cannabis advocacy.
Believe or not, Snoop was even nominated for a Primetime Emmy last year for Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, Broadus’ foray into the “house and home” penny bucket.
