UNILAG Senate Elects Professor Folasade Ogunsola As Acting Vice-Chancellor

The University of Lagos Senate members on Monday has elected Professor Folasade Ogunsola as its acting Vice-Chancellor.

The election comes after the Presidency directed the Chancellor of the University, Wale Babalola, and the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor Toyin Ogundipe, to step aside over allegations of financial impropriety and misconducts.

Professor Ogunsola, who until her election was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Development Services polled a total of 135 votes compared to Professor Ben Oghojafor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Management Services, who polled a total of 31 votes.

Professor Ogunsola is expected to act in the new role until the outcome of the Special Visitation Panel set up by the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
