A small town in Kentucky has elected a French bulldog named Wilbur to be their mayor.
The 6-month-old dog unseated incumbent Brynneth Pawltro, a rescued pit bull to win as mayor in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky on Thursday.
Wilbur won a landslide victory with about 13,143 votes, the highest winning total recorded in the history of the town.
The city’s historical society holds a dog election every four years since 1998. The canines don’t make legislative decisions though.
The event is done as a fundraiser to help pay to maintain historic buildings in the town.
