Former Ghanaian President, Jerry Rawlings, Dies At 73

Former President of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings has died of coronavirus-related complications at the age of 73.

Rawlings died at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, where he was receiving treatment on Thursday, November 11.

The former president ruled Ghana as a military leader from 1981 to 2001.

Rawlings led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the elected President.

He resigned from the military in 1992 and founded the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Jerry Rawlings is survived by his wife and children.
