Twitter has suspended the account of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on its digital platform.
The social media service suspended the account today, November 23.
While a quick search a quick check on the official handle of the agency ‘@NgComCommission’ confirmed the development, reason for the suspension is yet unknown.
Just so you know… The Nigerian Communications Commission is the independent regulatory authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria. It was created under Decree number 75 by the [Federal Military Government of Nigeria] on 24 November 1992.
The commission was charged with the responsibility of regulating the supply of telecommunications services and facilities, promoting competition, and setting performance standards for telephone services in Nigeria.
The Decree has been abrogated and replaced with the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003.
