Man Arrested After Trafficking Cocaine To Fund His Wedding By January Next Year

A man who trafficked cocaine in order to fund his wedding which comes up in January, 2021 has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.


Elechi Adendu Kingsley, 39, who has been living in Brazil for the past 13 years, was arrested with a bag containing cellophane bags of chocolate sweets which tested positive for cocaine, during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airline flight Et 911.

He was captured by the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Special Area Command, Abuja.

During interrogation, Kingsley said that he wasn’t going to blame anybody for his involvement as he offered to carry the goods.

He said he was promised N3 Million upon safe delivery of the drugs to somebody in Nigeria, adding that he came to Nigeria in preparation for his wedding in January 2021.
