Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th president of the United States of America alongside his vice, Kamala Harris.
This comes just two weeks after mob of supporters loyal to his predecessor and former president, Trump stormed the building in a violent to overturn the results of the presidential election.
The Supreme Court Justice, Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office to Biden on the steps outside the West Front of the US Capitol.
Biden swore to defend the constitution and the country “against all enemies, foreign and domestic”.
At 78, he is the oldest president ever to take the oath of office.
